Heating Wax

  1. Take the broken wax and heat it in a beaker
  2. Observe any gas that may be coming out
  3. Try sticking a burning candle above the wax
  4. Record

After being heated for a few minutes, all the wax has melted.
When a burning match is extended near the surface of the wax, a puff of flame bursts out and diminishes quickly after.
After a few repetitions of this due to curiosity, the whole beaker suddenly sets aflame (video below).
This could be due to the large amount of wax vapor that has accumulated in the beaker due to its higher density than air.
